Oris joins the Geneva Watch Days (GWD 2021) for the first time following Watches & Wonders this year. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become inevitable to hold large-scale watch fairs from last year to this year, and independent brands such as Oris, which are not part of the group, have fewer opportunities to communicate directly with media and retail officials. Oris is breaking through this situation head-on and using various digital channels, including participation in watch fairs, large and small, to convey the will to communicate more actively. Let’s take a look at the new Oris new products that were unveiled at GWD 2021 from now on.

First of all, we would like to introduce a new pilot’s watch, the Big Crown Propilot Rega Fleet Limited Edition. This model commemorates the close partnership with Rega, the Swiss Air Rescue Team. Following a partnership with Rega in 2016 and announcing the first limited edition replica watches, Oris introduced the Rega Limited Edition with GMT features, limited to 2,000 pieces in 2018, through the Big Crown ProPlot lineup.
The third Rega Limited Edition watch, new this year, consists of a whopping 21 limited editions. This is a very unusual type of limited edition configuration, even when looking back on the history of Oris watchmaking. In other words, the 21 models are limited to 100 pieces each and released as a limited edition of 2,100 pieces in total. The interesting thing is that the front configuration and specifications of the fake watches including the dial are almost the same, but the 21 models are slightly different only with the special engraving on the case back.
The number ‘21’ was inspired by the number of three aircraft owned by Rega, a world-class aviation rescue service team! Seven H145 Airbus Helicopters, a multipurpose aircraft with state-of-the-art avionics and two engines of up to 894 horsepower (x2), 11 AgustaWestland Da Vinci helicopters, an ambulance type, a high-performance aircraft specialized for difficult mountainous terrain Three Bombardier Challenger 650s are used to transport patients who have been seriously ill and injured by jet airplanes not only in Switzerland but also around the world. Engraved in the center of the bag, the user feels as if they belong to the Rega team.
The Big Crown Propilot Rega Fleet Limited Edition is crafted from a multi-piece assembled stainless steel case. However, the entire case is treated with a dark gray tone gunmetal PVD coating to reveal its unique personality. It has a bidirectional rotatable bezel unlike general profilot products, and a pulsometer scale that can measure a patient’s pulse is engraved on the top of the bezel, and a red triangle is added to make it usable in an emergency. The case diameter is 41mm and guarantees practical 100m water resistance.
In addition to the matte black dial, white Super-LumiNova-infused indexes are attached, and the hands displaying the hours and minutes are also coated with white Super-LumiNova to ensure sufficient readability even at night. As you can see from the addition of a 24-hour graduated ring on the dial flange, the central red-tipped GMT hand points to 24 hours for easy access to the second time zone. The date is displayed with a separate aperture (window) at the 3 o’clock position of the dial. At 6 o’clock on the dial, an emblem with a variation of the winged red cross logo that symbolizes Rega is printed to commemorate the partnership with Rega.
The movement is equipped with an Oris caliber 798 modified with a Celita automatic base (SW330) (frequency of 4 Hz, power reserve of 42 hours). Compared to the Rega GMT Limited Edition released in 2018, the arrangement of the second hand is different and the base itself uses a more advanced version. Like the middle case, it uses a screw caseback made of gunmetal gray PVD coated steel to not expose the movement, but, as mentioned above, the precious life-saving aircraft operated by the Rega team are engraved with their respective registration numbers and their own collection. Adds value.
The strap comes with a black calfskin strap with no stitching, plus an interchangeable red rubber strap. Each strap is equipped with a quick-change system, so you can enjoy changing straps easily without tools. The Big Crown Proilot Rega Fleet Limited Edition (Ref. 798 7773 4284-Set) is limited to 2,100 pieces, 100 pieces each with 21 different casebacks, and will be available in Oris stores worldwide from September. For reference, the domestic release price was set at 3.8 million won.
